On April 20, 1998 I set the world record for the most vertical feet snowboarded in a day. My mental strength and physical performance on the day of the event were critical. The preparation details prior to the event – planning, training, diet, and sponsors – were also essential elements to my success.

I would like to share my experience of turning a dream into a reality by explaining the process of goal setting, planning, and execution.  I will come into your classroom with cool snowboarding gear, pictures of the event, magazine and newspaper articles, TV interviews on videotape, and the Guinness 2000 Book of World Records: Millennium Edition.

I will leave children with one main message. Dream, Plan, and Go Big! Focus on what you want, why you want it, when you want it, and how you plan to get it. Believe in yourself. Use passion, vision and planning to accomplish your goals.

I would love to visit your classroom. I will talk about what I did and get children pumped up to set their own goals. I'm targeting 1st to 6th grade children with a show & tell interactive goal setting session. Please contact me for more information or to set up an appointment at (303) 589-9097 or tammy_ftpoint@yahoo.com. I look forward to speaking with you.

Vertical Record Sponsors: K2 Snowboards, Klondike Heliskiing (host), Kluane Helicopters, Subaru, Oakley, MICA Sport Canada, Betty Rides clothing, Acerbis helmets, GU, Smartwool, Cytomax, YMCA, and CamelBak.
